Register Domain

is the first step towards  getting your website out there on the internet  for the world to see. You first need to choose what domain name(s) you will register (maybe you will have more than one). If you are looking to create a website for your business you will probably want to register TLDs or top level domains such as the .com and .co.uk versions of your domain name, and possibly  the .net or .org.uk versions, if these are not available you might have to be more creative with your choice.

You will need to use a domain check to see what names are available, you may find that you have to search several times before finding a name that isnt already on the domain register.

You may also want to register the names of some of your keywords such as local towns if you are looking to target local clients, or maybe some of the services or product names that you sell.

It will usually pay to think long and hard about the domains you register, if you register the right do
main it could rank high on google and other search engines and bring in more business for you. Your domain  could even become a valuable asset that you could sell for a profit. If you buy domain name you will be given the option to keep your details private, which is worth the extra few pounds to prevent spam.

Having completed domain registration, you will also need somewhere to host your site, this could be via your domain registrar or via a seperate web hosting company. Some packages offered will include a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) html editor that will allow you to enter text , pictures and links etc easily. Alternatively you can download a free html editor called Kompozer.Once you get to grips with that I would suggest that you optimise your pages for certain keyphrases, particularly by using those words in your title and alt text of images.
